I Want To Know What Love Is - Foreigner

Written by Mick Jones

I gotta take a little time

A little time to think things over

I better read between the lines

In case I need it when I'm older

Aaaah woah-ah-aah

Now this mountain I must climb

Feels like a world upon my shoulders

And through the clouds I see love shine

It keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life there's been heartache and pain

I don't know if I can face it again

Can't stop now, I've traveled so far

To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is

I want you to show me

I wanna feel what love is

I know you can show me

Aaaah woah-oh-ooh

I'm gonna take a little time

A little time to look around me, oooh ooh-ooh ooh-ooh oooh

I've got nowhere left to hide

It looks like love has finally found me

In my life there's been heartache and pain

I don't know if I can face it again

I can't stop now, I've traveled so far

To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is

I want you to show me

I wanna feel what love is

I know you can show me

I wanna know what love is

I want you to show me

And I wanna feel, I want to feel what love is

And I know, I know you can show me

Let's talk about love

(I wanna know what love is) the love that you feel inside

(I want you to show me) I'm feeling so much love

(I wanna feel what love is) no, you just cannot hide

(I know you can show me) yeah, woah-oh-ooh

I wanna know what love is, let's talk about love

(I want you to show me) I wanna feel it too

(I wanna feel what love is) I wanna feel it too

And I know, and I know, I know you can show me

Show me what is real, woah (woah), yeah I know

(I wanna know what love is) hey I wanna know what love

(I want you to show me), I wanna know, I wanna know, want know

(I wanna feel what love is), hey I wanna feel, love

I know you can show me, yeah

Rise - Gabrielle

Songwriters: Bobb, Louisa; Dagois, Ollie; Dylan, Bob; Unger-Hamilton, Ferdy;

I know that its over

But I cant believe were through

They said that times a healer

And Im better without you

Its gonna take time I know

But Ill get over you

Chorus:

Look at my life

Look at my heart

I have seen them fall apart

Now Im ready to rise again

Look at my hopes

Look at my dreams

Im building bridges from these scenes

Now Im ready to rise again

Caught up in my thinking, yeah

Like a prisoner in my mind

You pose so many questions

But the truth was hard to find

I better think twice I know

That Ill get over you

(Chorus)

Much time has passed between us

Do you still thi

nk of me at all?

My world of broken promises

Now you wont catch me when I fall

(Chorus

Normal.. ?

Normal is whatever you want, within the constraints placed upon you.

There's no such thing as normal.

I find that word a tad bit offensive really.

I'm unique, beautiful, talented.....

There's nothing "normal" about me.

yeah I agree. I mean, honestly what is "normal" anyway?? It doesn't really exist. Normal is whatever people imagine it to be.

And their spelling!?!

And I watched a show called 'The General Knowledge show,' incredulous that the contestants of this show, all in their late teens, early twenties, found difficulty in answering questions that I'd have known the answer when I was fourteen, sixteen.

And their spelling!?!

These people went to university: SHIT, they at least went to school, but what has happened to their spelling? Is good spelling a lost art now? Are their piss-poor spelling endemic of this age of Ipod's, yahoo messenger and texting? I fear so.

Promise Me

Whilst on remand, my little radio was great company for me. And the music, ‘Ah the music!’ It kept me going… And, one track that meant a lot to me, got written out slowly, a couple of lines at a time, every time I heard it played over the airwaves.

‘Promise Me’ By Beverly Craven

You light up another cigarette

and I pour the wine

It’s four o’clock in the morning

and it’s starting to get light

Now I’m right where I want to be

losing track of time …

But I wish it was still last night

you look like you’re in another world

and I can read your mind.

How can you be so far away

lying by my side?

When I go away I’ll miss you

and I will be thinking of you

every night and day.

Just …

Promise me

you’ll wait for me,

‘coz I’ll be saving all my love for you

and I will be home soon …

Promise me

you’ll wait for me

I need to know you feel

the same way too.

Suicide Road

23:51 Oct 05 2009
Times Read: 903

Doing ‘time’, for selling ‘da weed’, I met a lot of people who had Life lessons to teach me, if I chose to keep my ears open: and, I had.

Suicide Road

Don’t call me ‘coz I’m not at home

left my message on an answer-phone.

The blues came round to call on me

and they said they knew how to set me free.

Showed me a needle and put it in my hand

and said it would take me to a better land.

Said it would take all my troubles away.

and I’ll never have to see another bad day.

No more worryin and no more cryin

No more stealin and no more lyin

No more waiting to catch the last bus,

No more hassles, no more fuss.

My eyes are open but I still can’t see

the deadly poison been given to me.

Lord, Please take my mind from this

Overload,

And make sure I never walk down –

Suicide Road.

... one I created earlier.

My fishfingers on defrost, I look into the mirror and smile. My fair-hair dyed blonde is thinning; worn with a flick of a fringe, mirrored to the right; and still looks good; and the John Lennon style glasses perched on top of the bridge of my straight nose suit my somewhat gaunt face.

My dark blue nylon and fleece-lined zip-up windcheater jacket is worn over a white-shirt with a button down collar.

And, I’m smiling, toward myself.

Mike and I had watched ‘Hell Ride’, a film with Michael Madsen in, while enjoying a coffee, a beer and a smoke.

Toward the end of it, I’d decided to open the can of bitter, which I’d shared between Mike and I before I’d decided to have a really good cocktail, just as it was ending.

And, after a very necessary toilet break, it’d been ‘on with the show’ and, a film called ‘Infestation’, a comedy horror that I’ve seen before and really enjoyed; and it has the fellow from ‘Reaper’ innit, the one who plays the Devil.

As Mike had returned to the room he hadn’t noticed what I’d done: and, as the film finished at about nine fifty, and with ten minutes to go, I had seen him out; still half-hoping he’d have found what I’d left in almost plain sight. But he hadn’t.

Even when he’d returned to my room at one point and asked for his pipe, he’d still been unaware of what I’d done, much to my amusement, and trifling annoyance.

I mean, I’d left them there, nigh on in plain sight; well, almost.

And, he’d got his bike from the back and then, after I’d seen him through the large wrought-iron gate on the drive I’d returned to the back, to look up to the moon.

It hadn’t been quite full, yet. But even so, as I looked up at it, I’d grinned at the potential for discovery I’d created earlier...

... watching ‘Vampire Diaries’ 1:01

16:53 Oct 01 2009
Times Read: 912

Well mebbee I haven’t seen my copy of ‘Twilight’ yet, but after watching the copy of ‘Transformers 2’ off Karl with Mike, I sat down to watch ‘Vampire Diaries’ 1:01

And I have asked someone if I’m right in my assertion that the television show has the feel of the film, to which I was told it had. Either way, I liked it.

‘When someone asks how you are, they really don’t want an answer,’ our heroine writes in her diary sitting in a graveyard, as a crow caws away; and an ethereal mist forms around her feet.

‘… and it was all very Hitchcock for a second,’ says the raven-haired Elena to Stephan, shortly before she stops to admire the ring he wears, then moments later notices the gash in her leg and the blood, with longing.

At The Grill, Jeremy Elena’s younger brother makes a move on Vicky, Matt’s sister as she waits on tables: and, she assures him that she’s not interested in him, just his drugs; that he shouldn’t bother her anymore, for fear of damaging her relationship with Tyler.

He arrives where Elena lives, to apologise for scaring her at the graveyard and Elena invites him to join her.

Like her, he too keeps a journal, she learns to her pleasure, when he returns hers.

In class, Stephan allows it to be known that is family Salvatore is old, as he recounts fact previously unknown to their classes History teacher.

When they walk into The Grill Matt looks up to see her enter with him, as she sits with Bonnie, who has been trying to assure him he still has a chance.

He rises and shakes Stefan’s hand, before they rejoins the others at a table.

After awhile he is asked if he’ll be going to the beach party. Looking at her, he thinks for a moment, before answering, “Yes.”

Her friend Bonnie reaches to her, as Elena passes her a beer and, for a moment, the young woman who has been joking of having premonitions actually has one, of Elena in a graveyard, mist, a crow and a stranger.

At one point, her former boyfriend Matt walks over, to assure her that he’ll be there if needed, as he has belief in her.

Then Vicky runs from her jock boyfriend Tyler and meets Jeremy, Elena’s younger brother, who she accuses of wanting only one thing from her, just like the one she runs from. She runs from the party deep into the woods, where Mist forms near her, and she stumbles. Then, all is blackness.

Later, he broods, over a lithograph, of a woman looking much like Elena. As we will learn, she is Katherine, who they both have a connection to, in their long distant past.

Then much later, after she has been found barely alive, that Stefan learns who is responsible for the spate of local animal killings and, the disappearance’s of people, including the couple that died earlier, as they’d made their way to Mystic Falls.

It was his brother Damon, darker in all respects, than he.

And, there is a confrontation between the brothers, during which Damon boasts of his abilities, with the mist and the Crow; and then later during a fight he goads Stefan, telling his brother that he is weaker, as he does not feed of humans.

During the fight the ring is removed from Stefan: and eventually returned by Damon, who knows full well it’s value to him.

As Damon departs, Stefan calls after him, “Keep away from Mystic Falls.”

And the scene cuts back to The Grill where Caroline the ditzy blonde who had thrown herself at Stefan at the beach party sits on her own, after Bonnie has left her. She had been saying how she never finds a man she wants, who wants her: and then, she looks across the room, to where Damon sits and, their eyes meet.
